Baroque 4/4 violin, circa: 1785. £1,950
English violin made for (or by) Longman and Broderip, a London based firm of musical instrument agents, active between 1767 and 1790.
This violin has been completely rebuilt by me, after extensive restoration and reconstruction of the neck shoulder, belly and pegbox. Original varnish has been preserved as much as possible, and the Baroque set-up has been restored.
Strung with Larsen aurora strings, this has a lively and responsive tone and a very deep resonance.
